Our Mission

Our Mission is to be an organism that functions by God’s manifest presence and the passions of people.

We will resource the Body of Christ to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.

Our Vision

We dreamed of...
  • A place where Worship and the Word of God could be communicated in an irresistibly compelling way.
  • People getting together informally in small groups and meeting in homes and eating meals together and talking about real-life issues.
  • A community in which prayer would unleash the prevailing power of God.
  • A church that would be distinct and counter-culture in which members would say "Enough is enough!” and would funnel their excess resources back into the local fellowship for distribution to the needy.
  • People walking into extreme cultures and setting the captives free.
  • A body of people displaying so much love and integrity that good rumors would begin to circulate among the lost, and when unchurched people would come to see what was going on, they would find Jesus.
  • A place where there would be a display of the miraculous, where what was happening couldn’t be explained in human terms.

This is The Gateway…dreams really do come true.
Our Values

Our highest goal is the first commandment. (Matthew 22:37 – " you shall love the Lord your GOD with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” To see a passion for Jesus permeate everything we do.

We place a high value on the increasing presence of GOD, which is our "signature” experience through worship and intercession.
We value the written word of GOD and encourage meditation and the study of Scripture both personally and corporately.

We value...
  • Simplicity and do not want to operate in hype. We want to be "naturally supernatural.”
  • Sonship. One of our highest goals is to reproduce sons and daughters with a strong inheritance of Kingdom values and a sure identity.
  • And commit ourselves to actively love, bless and serve others as a response to Father’s love. (Matthew 22:30- The second command is like it, "you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”)
  • Having Jesus’ heart of compassion for the broken, the poor, rejected, and the needy. (Luke 4:18-19)
  • And give Holy Spirit freedom to move in whatever way He likes in our gatherings and we nurture and encourage the use of all His gifts.
  • And recognize the whole Body of Christ and desire to receive from all like-minded streams who embrace the Gospel of the Kingdom.
  • Radical faith and passion, to risk all for the Kingdom of GOD.
  • Holiness as we are being conformed into the image of Jesus.
  • The flow of Heaven’s economy through His people. We seek to freely give our time, energy and resources.
  • Excellence and creativity in all that we do.
  • Attracting non-believers to Jesus by the power of Love.
Our Beliefs

We believe...
  • In the one and only triune God. We acknowledge there is one true God consisting of three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • That the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified, died, was buried, and resurrected. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, and is true God and true man.
  • The Bible is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God, fully inspired and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is our rule of faith and practice.
  • That all are born sinners, the Holy Spirit convicts of sin; the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for sin by shedding His precious blood on the cross as the atonement for sin; those who refuse to accept His sacrifice for their sin are eternally lost; and those who repent of their sin and personally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, receive the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies and adopts us into His Kingdom as sons and daughters.
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live holy and minister super-naturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers that they might have power to be witnesses.
  • The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy. . . sin, lies, sickness and torment, and that the ordinances of baptism and communion are vital to the sealing and ongoing, victorious life of the believer.
  • The Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His Kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God's love to the nations, discipling, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
  • In the ever increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His overcoming Bride… His Church. Heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.

Visionaries - John & Ruth Filler

John and Ruth are The Gateways Apostolic Overseers. Having originally come from traditional church backgrounds, they have found growing personal freedom and corporate release through prophetic worship and intercession. In 1987, when they became senior pastors, it was with a mandate to see the Church unleashed, moving outside of the four-wall "fortress mentality." Seeing the need for the Church to be transformed and take her intended place in the world with relevancy and effectiveness, John and Ruth are determined to be a resource to teach and equip for these changing times. Their passion is for the pure Word of God, true worship, and creativity through gifts to be restored to this generation with signs, wonders and miracles following.

For the last several years, they have poured themselves into a weekly gathering of radical young adults from around the region, and this has become one of their most fulfilling experiences! They know that it is only a foretaste of what is yet to come for this generation!

Both of them speak into conferences, churches, and small groups, ministering both nationally and internationally. They have also been involved in missions in numerous countries over the years; in 1991 they spent a year in Poland, planting a local church and establishing a Bible college.

Most recently, in early 2009, they led a ministry team on a two-week missions trip to the Philippines. John and Ruth are Regional directors of RAIN Ministries for the state of Idaho.

They have been married since 1980 and have two wonderful children, as well as a lovely daughter-in-law.
